Chocolate Lenten Cake – Crazy Cake

PREP TIME 20 minutes


Easy cake good during fast.  Can be served with frosting or plain.


2 c sugar
3 c flour
2 tsp soda
1⁄2 T salt
1⁄2 c baking cocoa
3⁄4 c oil
2 t vinegar
2 t vanilla
2 c water


Add liquids to dry ingredients. Mix well.
Bake in a 13 x 9 pan for 35 minutes at 375 degrees
Can sprinkle with powdered sugar once cool, or frost with 2 cups powdered sugar, 1/3 cup margarine, 1 tsp vanilla (1 egg in frosting optional )
